Yeah though things like casting rubber mold would have to have more detail on it . I just wet through a quick search and found nothing on it and also not sure what rubber mold I would buy. It’s not that it’s difficult it’s just I would probably have to be taught this in person .

For future reference, I can wholeheartedly recommend most of the products from Smooth-On (they make both the mold material and the resin). I’m using their Oomoo 30 rubber and the Smooth Cast 300 resin at the moment, but what you need can vary from project to project.

Honestly the hardest part is that you have to sculpt every individual part that you need. For instance, for Thor’s chest armor, most of it would need to be sculpted in one large piece. That’s what always takes the longest… Not looking forward to sculpting Hawkeye’s bow one bit…

When you have some time to kill, check out Volpin’s prop blog. This guy is basically the reason I attempted any sort of prop-making in the first place. The great thing is- especially with his earlier posts- he really details everything step-by-step so it’s great to learn from :D

Yeah I could never choose a favorite weapon in DMC since I loved them all , but I mean I was good with Nevan and Agni and Rudra , but yeah right Vergil should’ve totally gotten Nevan and instead of it being a eletric guitar it should’ve been a violin . Yeah my dad and I made the jaw with foam and sprayed it black (I don’t remember most of it since he wanted to work on it ) , but I might go for MGS : Rising since if I can get wonderflex or something as similar I can try to make his armor or I’ll go with MGS:4 and work on it , though I just need to find ways . I really wish I had the time and patients to just learn the tips and tricks . -.-

Heh. There’s something to be said about learning on the fly, y’know? ADVENTUUUUURE! I’ve had things blow up, before, but it’s always interesting at least! Best thing for it is to just start with smaller things, figure out what works, and go from there! Just working on Ezio has taught me a ton about prop-making. Same with Fai and Alucard (lesson from Alucard: do not cast an entire shield face in plaster. It’s a dumb idea and it’ll weigh 30 lbs).

I’ve done some work with Wonderflex and I can’t say I’m entirely fond of it though I can definitely see where it’d have its uses.

Yeah and also Wondeflex is expensive as hell . I wanted to skip CT-Con or at least work double shifts to get enough money for a sewing machine and well what do you use to make some armor materials ?

But more recently, I’ve been working in resin casting. You mold the piece out of clay, make a rubber mold, and cast the piece in resin. It’s stronger and lighter than most anything else. Problem is it’s expensive and has a bit of a learning curve. I’ve gotten some pretty cool casts, so far. These are some rough pulls (before sanding, etc) that I did over the summer:

Yeah but also this was Dante’s first time transforming into a Demon , so I guess give him a slick look before upgrading , but I still loved it and yeah Raiden was suppose to happen since my Dad and I were making the jaw piece until we got into a feud and basically just destroyed it , so I’m back to square (nothing) until I can figure out how to do this with no equipment to make it with . I was always a fan of Raiden in 2 I mean sure he was different and no one didn’t appreciate him , but I had a feeling Kojima was going to use him for a big plot and well MGS 4 proved it to me . “I’am the lighting , The rain transformed “

Mm. I really liked the variations each weapon had on the DTs (Oh man Beowulf was the coolest) and I kinda wish Vergil got the same ones, but I’m biased :P Though I can’t complain too much, you couldn’t even tell what Vergil looked like half the time because of all of the teleporting.

Raiden… gosh, I just have no idea where to start. I’m going for the semi-helmet from 4 rather than the MGSR look and I’d really like to get it to move… I’m working on my small electronics work, but this is still way out of my league. Well, whenever it happens you can bet it’ll light up brighter than a Christmas tree.

I wasn’t a huge fan of Raiden in MGS2 (“We managed to avoid drowning!” “Good work!”) but I warmed up a bit after all of the silly stuff in MGS3 (Raikov, Snake Eraser, etc). When he popped up in MGS4… Hot damn.

This is one of the many times I’m glad I’m the same size as the average 13 year old boy… Roommate and I both got shirts and St. Marks’d them up. We riveted the cut seams closed, threw a few more on the sleeves, and I accidentally cut a hole in the collar area while I was cutting so I threw in a bunch of random grommets. Woooo~

Walmart O_O They had 5 different designs it was crazy! This was a boys size 10-12, but I think they go up to 14-16 (since you’d probably need it to be longer).
